Position overview

General Ledger Accountant’s role implies a close cooperation with GBS departments and teams, follow up with various parties in the organization during the closing period.

Required skills and experience

  • Higher education in the fields of Accounting, Economics or Finance
  • Experience in a financial environment, including the areas of financial reporting and accounting
  • Good communication skills in English
  • Overall knowledge of IFRS will be considered as advantage
  • Strong Excel skills and experience with ERP systems
  • Analytical and problem solving mindset with entrepreneurial attitude and sense of responsibility
  • Ability to meet strict deadlines with accuracy
  • Highly organized and motivated

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and record timely GL and/or Sub Ledger accounting entries in accordance with internal and external regulations
  • Participate and perform Month-end closing and reporting activities and ensure timely completion
  • Prepare reconciliations and obtain approvals in accordance with accepted requirements
  • Actively follow-up with various parties in the organization to resolve issues related to accounting
  • Ensure and perform maintenance and updates of process documentation
  • Support continuous improvement to streamline processes and IT systems
  • Prepare and record timely GL and/or Sub Ledger accounting entries in accordance with internal and external regulations
  • Participate and perform Month-end closing and reporting activities and ensure timely completion as per closing calendar
  • Perform reconciliations of Sub-ledger to GL, accounts in bank accounts
  • Ensure and perform maintenance and updates of process documentation
  • Actively follow-up with various parties in the organization to resolve issues related to accounting
  • Support and contact partner for internal and external audits

Qualifications

  • Education within the fields of Finance is required
