The international conference, which is organised within the framework of "Out in the Open" project is a networking event, which aims to raise awareness on the LGBT+ Spectrum, outdoor and experiential education, highlighting the impact of different used methods with LGBT+ youth and also with other vulnerable groups.
During the Conference, you will have the chance to meet with our 21 youth workers from the 7 European countries who are part of the project, and through a variety of activities:
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗺 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝗳𝗲𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗻𝗲𝘅𝘁 𝗱𝗮𝘆𝘀, 𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝘂𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗲𝗶𝘃𝗲 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘂𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲𝘀.

𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗷𝗲𝗰𝘁:
“Out in the Open” is a 3 phases training program that focuses on improving the social inclusion and active participation of LGBT+ youth in society by improving the competencies of youth workers in outdoor education.
The 3 phases of the project included:
- Training Course: where youth workers were trained on outdoor and experiential education within the LGBT+ Spectrum
- Local Action Phase: where youth workers implemented local actions in their communities using the new learned methods
- Capacity Building Meeting: where the youth workers evaluate the impact of their actions & organise the networking Conference.
Participating countries are Czech Republic, Estonia, Italy, Greece, Latvia, Slovenia and Spain.
The project is financially supported by the Erasmus+ programme and the Latvian National Agency of Erasmus+, Jaunatnes starptautisko programmu aģentūra. It is organised by Piedzīvojuma Gars organization and the educational platform Active Rainbow.
