26. apr, 12:00 PM - 26. apr, 3:00 PM
✨️ Let’s go on a trip down memory lane, just last year we had our first lesbian* picnic, almost a year has passed and it’s time to relive it and take space once more.
It’s lesbian* visibility week and again the need for lesbian* spaces is still present, the need to connect, celebrate, meet and enjoy a good time together!
at Ziedoņdārzs park
Sunday, 26.04, between 15:00 - 18:00
Want to participate? You don’t need to fill in a form, just come to the park and spot the lesbian flags!
This week is a moment to reclaim space for queer femininities in all their complexity, to make visible the rich, messy, joyful, intersectional realities that are too often overlooked.
Bring snacks, a blanket, and something that brings you joy, a book, snacks & food, zines, whatever speaks to you!
We’ll be bringing along various musical instruments, a speaker, snacks, drinks, blankets and some sports equipment (badminton rackets, volleyball etc). Come add your energy to the mix!
Whether you’re lesbian*, queer, bi, trans, non-binary, questioning, or simply down for the cause, this space is for you. Allies are welcome, and respect is non-negotiable.
What does L* stand for?
Lesbian* refers to cis, trans and intersex women, and non-binary persons who self-identify as lesbian, bisexual and queer.
We are an educational platform and community of people that celebrate personal growth and inclusivity. Our platform is open, accessible, and welcomes everyone who is interested in non-formal learning, mobility opportunities, and contributing their verse to society.
Active Rainbow was founded in 2014 and started at first as a self-organized initiative. Since 2020, it is an organization in Latvia.
Our team is active in the field of youth work and in the implementation of learning programs for the past 11 years, working on a local, national, European and international level. We have established and leading a sustainable network of organizations, collectives and informal groups working with LGBTQIA+/Queer Education, and sharing mutual values for increasing the quality of inclusive, intersectional, accessible and safe youth work.
[Our Vision] We contribute to the creation of a world where diversity is welcomed and celebrated as a value.
[Our Mission] We are committed to strengthen the implementation of Human Rights and improve the quality of LGBT+ spectrum education, by offering learning opportunities for people to grow and thrive.
Our motto is - learning made simple, yet significant.
