〖 Join Our Gender-Based Violence Seminar | PGV Network 〗

Are you a youth worker, educator, social worker, volunteer, community leader, activist, or simply someone interested in understanding gender-based violence and creating safer, more inclusive communities?

Do you want to learn how to recognise gender-based violence, support survivors, challenge harmful norms, and contribute to meaningful social change?

What if gender-based violence is about more than individual acts?

What if violence is not only something that happens between people, but something shaped by institutions, policies, social norms, and systems of power?

Together, we will critically examine how violence operates across relationships, communities, institutions, and society, while exploring practical approaches for prevention, support, and action through a queer and intersectional lens.

📅 31.07 – 01.08.2026

📍 LGBT House, Riga, Latvia

👥 We are looking for 14 participants who, over two intensive days, will engage in discussions, workshops, interactive activities, and reflection focused on understanding violence, power, inequality, and the role we all play in preventing gender-based violence.

Topics include:

✦ What gender-based violence is and how it operates

✦ Myths, power, and structural violence

✦ Intersectionality and systems of oppression

✦ Queering gender-based violence

✦ Double victimisation and access to support

✦ Trauma-informed and survivor-centred approaches

✦ Prevention, community care, and the role of youth work

Through presentations, discussions, and interactive workshops, you will gain knowledge, practical tools, and critical perspectives to strengthen your work and advocacy.
