Innovative Practices for Active Citizenship | Youth Exchange in Slovenia 🇸🇮

Are you passionate about creating positive change in your community? Do you want to explore creative ways of activism, civic engagement, and active citizenship while connecting with young people from across Europe?
Innovative Practices for Active Citizenship is a non-formal learning programme where participants will discover inspiring examples of social and climate justice movements, learn innovative approaches to activism, and co-create practical actions that can be brought back to their local communities.
💡 During the exchange, you will:
- Explore innovative and creative examples of active citizenship
- Learn through non-formal education methods and intercultural exchange
- Develop and test new ideas for social engagement
- Create a flash mob, performances, educational activities, multimedia content, and other creative actions in Ljubljana
- Work in international teams and gain hands-on experience in community participation
- Plan follow-up initiatives to implement at home after the project
🦸 This programme is for you if:
- You are between 18 and 30 years old
- You are interested in active citizenship, activism, participation, or social change
- You are motivated to learn and contribute regardless of your previous experience
- You are willing to participate in the full project cycle, including preparation, the youth exchange, and local follow-up activities
- You can communicate in English and work in an international group
🛠️ Practical Information
🏠 Accommodation and meals are fully covered through Erasmus+
✈️ Travel costs are reimbursed according to Erasmus+ distance bands (up to 309 EUR for participants from Latvia)

We are an educational platform and community of people that celebrate personal growth and inclusivity. Our platform is open, accessible, and welcomes everyone who is interested in non-formal learning, mobility opportunities, and contributing their verse to society.
Active Rainbow was founded in 2014 and started at first as a self-organized initiative. Since 2020, it is an organization in Latvia.
Our team is active in the field of youth work and in the implementation of learning programs for the past 11 years, working on a local, national, European and international level. We have established and leading a sustainable network of organizations, collectives and informal groups working with LGBTQIA+/Queer Education, and sharing mutual values for increasing the quality of inclusive, intersectional, accessible and safe youth work.

- Support (young) people in their personal and professional development - equipping them with lifelong skills
- Offer safe and inclusive educational environments for everyone without discrimination, especially to LGBTQIA+ people
- Promote and participate in the development of youth work and the training of youth workers and educators
- Promote the initiatives of young people
- Increase the visibility of non-formal learning as a type of activism
- Offer and foster volunteering opportunities, building young activists and social changemakers
- Develop and sustain an engaged and connected network of organizations, fostering international cooperation and cross-cultural exchange
- Create a more inclusive and cohesive society to ensure equal opportunities for all to achieve full potential in life
