We’re back with our crochet gatherings this season, and we couldn’t be more excited to open the space again. This time, we invite you to join us for an evening to connect through craft, slow down and build community one stitch at a time

We’ll be working on a freestyle queer-coded crochet tapestry, guided by our community member Carys. Alongside this, there will be space to work on granny squares for the pansexual flag, contributing to a shared piece shaped by many hands, in collaboration with our friends Neons.

All skill levels are welcome. Beginners will be introduced to basic stitches, while those who are seasoned in the craft will find materials for inspiration and a special task to explore 🧶✨

📅 Saturday, 14.02., 15:00-18:00

📍 LGBT House Riga

The project is co-funded by the European Union’s Erasmus+ programme, which is administered in Latvia by Jaunatnes starptautisko programmu aģentūra . It is a small-scale partnership program, coming out of the collaboration between Active Rainbow and Fundacja Po Prostu Da Się.

Active Rainbow

We are an educational platform and community of people that celebrate personal growth and inclusivity. Our platform is open, accessible, and welcomes everyone who is interested in non-formal learning, mobility opportunities, and contributing their verse to society.

Active Rainbow was founded in 2014 and started at first as a self-organized initiative. Since 2020, it is an organization in Latvia.

Our team is active in the field of youth work and in the implementation of learning programs for the past 11 years, working on a local, national, European and international level. We have established and leading a sustainable network of organizations, collectives and informal groups working with LGBTQIA+/Queer Education, and sharing mutual values for increasing the quality of inclusive, intersectional, accessible and safe youth work.

[Our Vision] We contribute to the creation of a world where diversity is welcomed and celebrated as a value.

[Our Mission] We are committed to strengthen the implementation of Human Rights and improve the quality of LGBT+ spectrum education, by offering learning opportunities for people to grow and thrive.

Our motto is - learning made simple, yet significant.

[Our objectives]

  • Support (young) people in their personal and professional development - equipping them with lifelong skills
  • Offer safe and inclusive educational environments for everyone without discrimination, especially to LGBTQIA+ people
