Our next Community Gathering is happening this Saturday 5.04, 14:00 - 18:00 🫂
Join us at LGBT House Riga for our next crocheting and crafty event, whether you are a beginner or already know how to crochet! 🧶
This time, we will be starting the process to co-create a sensory Queer blanket that will include different patterns from queer related flags.
Whether you just want to hang-out, exist in the place, and/or contribute in the making of the blanket, we are looking forward to reuniting together!
Our community member Carys is a self taught crochet designer who wants to try their hand at teaching what they learned about crochet and hold the space for cozy co-creations!
📍LGBT House, Stabu iela 19 (underground)
🎯 Free Attendance
We will provide with the starting yarns and needles, as well as with snacks, coffee/tea and we will also be ordering pizza to accompany our gathering!
Last time our community members co-created a crocheted flag together (the progressive rainbow flag) was in 2023 with our amazing Kviri Runa team and their initiative! ❤️

We are an educational platform and community of people that celebrate personal growth and inclusivity. Our platform is open, accessible, and welcomes everyone who is interested in non-formal learning, mobility opportunities, and contributing their verse to society.
Active Rainbow was founded in 2014 and started at first as a self-organized initiative. Since 2020, it is an organization in Latvia.
Our team is active in the field of youth work and in the implementation of learning programs for the past 11 years, working on a local, national, European and international level. We have established and leading a sustainable network of organizations, collectives and informal groups working with LGBTQIA+/Queer Education, and sharing mutual values for increasing the quality of inclusive, intersectional, accessible and safe youth work.
[Our Vision] We contribute to the creation of a world where diversity is welcomed and celebrated as a value.
[Our Mission] We are committed to strengthen the implementation of Human Rights and improve the quality of LGBT+ spectrum education, by offering learning opportunities for people to grow and thrive.
Our motto is - learning made simple, yet significant.
