📍 Location: Across 6 eco and urban communities in South Greece
Are you ready for a 7-week adventure across Greece that combines community living, sustainability and impact?
Join Modern Odyssey Year 3, an ESC volunteering journey where 15 young volunteers travel together across the South of Greece supporting eco-communities and local initiatives.
Inspired by the idea of Odysseus’ journey, this project invites participants to explore alternative lifestyles, connect with communities, and reflect on personal and collective wellbeing. This year’s focus centers on mental and physical health, explored through hands-on work, community engagement, and shared living experiences.
Volunteers will form a traveling team, moving across different communities while living closely together, collaborating on projects, and creating connections along the way.
✨ What You’ll Do:
- Travel across Greece with a team of volunteers visiting different communities
- Engage in hands-on sustainability and community support projects
- Connect with local communities
- Contribute to practical work such as building, gardening, cooking, and maintaining spaces
- Develop individual or group initiatives that leave a positive impact
- Create storytelling content and document the journey through media
🦸 This program is for you if you are:
✔ Age: 18–30 years old
✔ Residency: Legal resident of an ESC programme country (must not require a visa for Greece)
✔ Comfortable with simple living conditions and community life
✔ Open to teamwork, creativity, and personal growth
✔ Interested in sustainability, community building, and experiential learning

Active Rainbow was founded in 2014 and started at first as a self-organized initiative. Since 2020, it is an organization in Latvia.
Our team is active in the field of youth work and in the implementation of learning programs for the past 11 years, working on a local, national, European and international level. We have established and leading a sustainable network of organizations, collectives and informal groups working with LGBTQIA+/Queer Education, and sharing mutual values for increasing the quality of inclusive, intersectional, accessible and safe youth work.
